Blog

Since Monday morning, users of Facebook, Instagram and Twitter around the globe have been facing glitches, but these glitches turned out to be a widespread outage throughout the day. Users reported that they were not able to send or receive messages and their apps were not refreshing. According to reports from Down detector, an online detector for status reports on such sites, 73,804 complaints on WhatsApp were recorded in the evening. The detector also reported that a total of 30,473 complaints were recorded for Instagram. Further, these reports reflected that this outage is not only in a certain location; unfortunately, it appears to be a widespread problem. However, the exact number of locations affected by this outage is still unclear.

Users reported that all these three social media sites stopped working afternoon and were glitching since the morning. The company was well acknowledged this issue and posted the following tweet on Twitter to keep its user updated:

“We’re aware that some people are having trouble accessing the Facebook app, we are working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible, and we apologize for any inconvenience.” A similar tweet was posted about WhatsApp.”

Facebook also updated its user-related this issue and tried to keep them as calm as possible. The same post was also posted on Facebook by their communications manager, Andy stone.

WhatsApp also thanked its users wholeheartedly for being calm and supportive. The tweet from the company stated:

“We’re aware that some people are experiencing issues with WhatsApp at the moment. We’re working to get things back to normal and will send an update here as soon as possible. Thanks for your patience!”

Hashtags like #Instagramdown #twitterdown #facebookdown are trending on Twitter and other online sites, and they are going viral around the globe as this issue continues to spread across the world. The users are getting beyond frustrated and want an immediate solution from the company. From rude to demanding comments, the profiles of these companies are hoarded with comments from their users.

The world faced a similar issue back in 2019 where these sites were crashed completely due to technical insufficiencies. But the companies were able to recover it within 2 hours of their crashing. However, the companies are still working on getting these sites back online this year, and we don’t know how long it will take.
